East Barnet Village Dental Practice conducts regular screenings for our patients to help them identify early signs of mouth cancer.
Some risk factors can increase your chances of getting mouth cancer:
Even if you don’t belong to any of these groups, there is still a remote chance you may contract mouth cancer, so it is essential you get screened.
No, at East Barnet Village Dental Practice we do not treat mouth cancer. We help to detect it. Since we are most familiar with how your mouth looks normally, we can easily recognise any abnormalities. If we see anything abnormal, we will refer you to your GP or an oncologist for further testing.
We recommend you examine your mouth after brushing your teeth. Run your tongue along your gums, cheeks and the roof of your mouth. If you notice any lumps, bumps or rough patches that don’t clear up within a few days then call our practice for a mouth cancer screening and examination.
Regular mouth cancer screenings can save your life. We encourage you to call on us on 020 8441 4213 to book your appointment. Let us help to put your mind at ease.
